

| This sketchbook records the scenery and people of Abyssinia, and includes studies of men and women in traditional clothes and activities, rocky landscapes with vegetation in the foreground and in some cases dwellings, and a small hairy mammal. A topographic draughtsman, Zander, travels with a group of German missionaries in the 1840s to Abyssinia where he lives for the rest of his life. Pen and black ink.
