Families of artists pass sketchbooks onto the next generation in the town of Nathadwara, Rajasthan, India. Artists’ notes fill the books with drawings on both sides of one sheet of paper and overlap with ideas. Sons and daughters work in the family workshop to learn painting skills from family members. The finished paintings depict scenes from the life of Krishna.
